"As two institutions deeply rooted in Sacramento history, we are excited to collaborate with the Crocker Art Museum to celebrate the passion of the best fans in the NBA,” said Sacramento Kings Chief Operating Officer Matina Kolokotronis. "There is no better way to commemorate 40 years of the team in Sacramento than showcasing art directly from our community.”

“The Crocker is excited to collaborate with the Sacramento Kings to open an exhibition in the Museum’s Student and Community Gallery, featuring an exciting display of work from local artists and team fans,” said Crocker Art Museum Director of Education Javier Plasencia. “Thank you to the Kings organization for curating a collection of work that highlights Sacramento’s depth of creativity and love for the game.”

The art pieces depict what the team means to Kings fans and feature notable items from franchise history, including the Kings Victory Beam, cowbell, former players, uniforms, and more. In addition, the display will include select photographs from longtime team photographer for the NBA, Rocker Widner, who has photographed the Kings since they arrived in 1985.

The collaboration continues on November 14 with ArtMix: In The Paint. It’s full-court fun as the Crocker crosses over into the world of hoops in collaboration with the Sacramento Kings. Enjoy live performances from the Kings entertainment team, get schooled by Jr. Kings coaches leading ball-handling drills, and feel the roar of the dance floor with DJ'd music all night.
