Art comes to life with a variety of programs and classes designed to spark curiosity and enrich the Museum experience for our community.
Program Areas
Performance + Film
Experience art on view at the Crocker in new and exciting ways with concerts, films, dance, and other performances inspired by new exhibitions and our permanent collection. These programs are held indoors in the Setzer Foundation Auditorium and throughout the Museum, as well as outside in the Museum's courtyards, providing many different experiences for attendees.
ArtMix
Live Music. Drinks. Art. Break free at ArtMix, the Crocker’s most fun-filled evening extravaganza, bursting with live performances, music, festive food and drinks, creative artmaking, and so much more! Expect the unexpected with new imaginative themes each month. The one thing you can always count on: ArtMix puts the art in party!
Museum Tours
Enhance your Museum experience with a docent-guided tour of what’s currently on view. Regular tours explore changing exhibitions and the Museum's collection with special themes, highlights, and artworks new on view.
2nd and 4th Wednesdays • 1 PM
Learn about the Crocker family and the era in which they lived as you journey back in time on this history-infused tour. Expect a different tour each month!
1st Saturdays • 11AM
Explore the distinct architectural elements, inside and out, of the Teel Family Pavilion and the historic building.
1st Sundays & 3rd Fridays • 1 PM
Savor this slow-looking tour of a work of art from the Crocker’s collection. Each 30-minute exploration is convivial, full of unexpected twists and turns, and always surprising!
3rd Saturdays • 12 PM
1st & 3rd Wednesdays • 12 PM
Tours in Spanish, Cantonese, French, and ASL are also offered upon request with a minimum two-week advance notice. Email education@crockerart.org.
The Crocker offers discounted admission for group visits. Group visits may request a docent-guided tour or explore the Museum on their own. Visits must be scheduled in advance to qualify for group rates.
Art + Wellness
Years of experience that has shown us that art-based programs have the powerful ability to help reduce stress, increase empathy, and foster an overall sense of well-being. The Crocker's Art + Wellness programs provide community, engagement, and comfort through art-based experiences that improve the lives of the people we serve.
Kids + Family
Join us for a variety of regularly occurring family tours and art-based programs designed to engage children in ways that spark communication, creativity, and self-expression. From Baby Loves Art to Teen Art Labs, the Crocker's Kids + Family programs offer something for the young art lovers in your life.
School + Teacher
Our school and teacher programs offer a full range of experiences to spark creativity and critical thinking. Explore art from California and around the world on a tour, or experience hands-on artmaking with a Tour + Workshop. Unable to leave the classroom? The Crocker presents fun and engaging art education experiences at your school, in person, or virtually.
Studio Classes
Experience the Crocker's world-renowned collection and diverse exhibitions through discussion and artmaking, and let great art of the past and present inspire your own creative expression. Most classes include at least one gallery visit, and the Musuem's highly trained staff and instructors are committed to providing participants of all experience levels with a supportive and engaging experience. Studio classes are offered for adults, kids, teens, and families.
