The Crocker offers free tickets to members for several of our regular programs such as ArtMix and Wee Wednesdays. Additional events that are free for members are listed in ArtLetter magazine and ArtInteractive. 

The number of people eligible for member benefits, including free admission and discounted tickets, depends on your level of membership. Additional guest tickets must be purchased at the nonmember price. Please note that guest passes are not accepted for ticketed programs. 

• Individual level: one adult.  

• Family level: two adults and all children under 18. 

• Associate level: three adults and all children under 18. 

• Contributor and Benefactor levels: four adults and all children under 18.  

Guest privileges vary depending on the type of event. Please see your invitation for details. 

Guest Passes, which are a member benefit at the Contributor level and above, are one-time use passes to give to friends and family. Guest passes can be used for general admission and programs that are free with admission.  The number of guests your membership covers varies by category and requires at least one named cardholder to be present for admission.  

• Contributor: two complimentary passes 

• Benefactor: four complimentary passes 

• Director's Circle: six complimentary passes 

Yes! The Crocker Art Museum Association is a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization as described in section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code. Our tax identification number is 94-2552486. 

For the Individual through Contributor levels of membership, your contribution is 100% tax-deductible. Higher levels of membership have varying amounts of deductibility. 

As we are unable to provide tax advice, please consult your tax advisor or the IRS for guidance. 

A reciprocal program offers members of one institution select membership benefits at all participating institutions, such as free admission.

The Crocker participates in the following reciprocal programs:

• NARM – North American Reciprocal Museum Program

• ROAM – Reciprocal Organization of Associated Museums

• MARP – Musuem Alliance Reciprocal Program

If you are a member of another participating institution, you will receive complimentary general admission for 2 adults and a 10% discount in the Museum store.

Reciprocal benefits vary at each participating museum. We recommend calling ahead or visiting the program websites to verify the institution's participation status before visiting to ensure policies and benefits have not changed.

Your membership is valid for one calendar year from your purchase month.

For example, if you joined November 5, 2022, your membership would expire November 30, 2023. 

Yes! Renew early to avoid a lapse in your member benefits, and we will extend your current expiration date by one year.

For example, if you renew one month early, your new expiration date will be in 13 months.

Yes! Become a Crocker Sustainer by setting up automatic annual or monthly payments.

Select your preferred Sustainer payment option when choosing a level of membership and make sure to save your credit card number during checkout for use in future automatic charges. This will appear as a checkbox at the end of the credit card form.

Yes! During your visit, stop by the Admissions Desk to apply your general admission tickets towards a membership. You can also call the Membership Office at (916) 808-6730 within 30 days of your visit to apply your tickets towards a membership. 

Ticket purchases from multiple visits cannot be combined, and the number of tickets applied is limited to the number of individuals covered by the membership level. For example, one admission ticket may be applied to an Individual membership; up to two may be applied to a Family membership; and so on. 

Yes, you can update your membership at any time and receive additional benefits! Just call the Membership Office at (916) 808-6730 (Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM) to pay the difference between your current level and your new level.

If you would like to rejoin or renew (within 3 months of expiring) at a higher level of membership, click here. 

The $15 need-based discount is optional discount that can be taken on the Individual – Associate level memberships and is designed for seniors, students, educators, individuals participating in assistance programs, military families, and others with a self-identified need who would benefit from the discount.

Yes! While your membership card is convenient, it is not required. Simply present your photo ID at the Admission desk and a Visitor Services Representative will check you in.

If you are a new member, it takes 2 – 3 weeks to process and mail your membership card(s). However, your membership benefits are still active during this time.  

Yes! Contact the Membership Office at membership@crockerartmuseum.org or 916-808-6730 to request a new card. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.

Alternatively, you can let the Admissions Desk staff know at your next visit. 

The Crocker is unable to provide digital membership cards at this time, but it is something we hope to offer in the near future.

Membership cards are not transferable, and at least one cardholder must be present for guests to receive free admission. 

Members at the Individual level are limited to one name printed on their card. Members at the Family level and above may have up to two names on the cards.
